CampMate collects and uses location data when you enable location services. This is used for finding nearby campsites and providing navigation features. All other data, including your favorites, checklists, and campsite information, is stored locally on your device.
Data Storage:
Your camping checklists, favorite activities, saved campsites, app preferences, and custom themes are stored locally on your device using iOS’s built-in storage systems. We do not store this data on remote servers.
Third-Party Services:
We use Apple’s StoreKit for in-app purchases and Apple Maps for location services. Any transaction data is handled directly by Apple and subject to their privacy policy. Map data and location searches are processed through Apple Maps services.
Location Data:
The app requests access to your location for features including campsite mapping, nearby spot discovery, and navigation. This data is used only within the app through Apple Maps services and is not collected or stored by us. You can control location permissions in your device settings.
Data Security:
Since all your data is stored locally on your device, it is protected by iOS’s built-in security features. We recommend keeping your device’s iOS version up to date to ensure the latest security protections.
Background Location Usage:
When enabled, the app can use your location in the background for navigation purposes. You can control this permission in your device settings.
Changes to This Policy:
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new privacy policy in the app.
